Message from Political Agent Mohmand Agency Muhammad Wasif Saeed.. Upon receiving a complaint via a Facebook regarding the spread of Leishmaniasis ( a disease I had never heard of before) through a picture and a Facebook comment on my personal page . I asked the Agency surgeon to arrange he requisite vaccine and conduct an emergency administration of the vaccine to the infected patients. I also was informed that there was a full fledged ADP funded programme under the health sector being executed by the directorate of health services Fata. However , until this day no vaccine received by the Agency so far. I was also told by some colleagues of the WHO that they had provided 1000 sets of the requisite vaccine to Health directorate Fata. And so on Saturday we received a batch of around 250 injections and distributed 150 to health facilities in the following order ; BHU Lakarro: 10 RHC Yakkaghund : 15 BHU nawe kalle prang ghar: 50 AHQH Ghallanai: 75 Alhamdulillah today patients started coming in at our facilities . On performing duties on Sunday I announce a cash award for the engaged health staff and congratulate the Agency Surgeon Doctor Alamgir Khan for his commitment and dedication. It goes without saying that the Political Administration has also done a good job in facilitating this “Emergency” activity. So far in in Prang Ghar and Yaka Ghund 72 patients including 3 afghan refugees have been vaccinated. Progress of Lakaro Saafi Tehsil will be shared by evening InshaAllah. Keep identifying health and education related issues . As I said earlier we may or may not resolve them but I assure you that we will try our level best to address the issues given our limited resources and capacity.
